SGM VISION SYSTEM
Application
The Vision System is used by printers, financial institutions, government
departments, ink, ribbon and toner manufacturers to measure MICR print
quality.
Operation
The Vision System consists of a base and frame, adjustable focus micrometer
stage, document holder, MICR overlay slides, quartz halogen light
source, video camera, 9" monochrome monitor and instruction manual.
Options include a Polaroid camera, SGM-1PC computer interface attachment
and a 12" monitor.
The document to be measured is placed in the document holder and
a light source illuminates the selected character through the appropriate
overlay slide and a set of lenses to the camera and monitor.

The Vision System measures print quality specifications such as
- horizontal character to character spacing
- veritcal character to character spacing
- character skew
- minimum, nominal and maximum character size
- minimum, nominal and maximum stroke width
- voids and extraneous ink spots
- perforations
- radii
- displays the results on a 9" or optional 12" monochrome
monitor
The Vision System meets current American and Canadian MICR Standards.
