MCT SIGNAL LEVEL TESTER
Application
The MCT is used by printers, financial institutions, government departments
and ink, ribbon and toner manufacturers to measure the average signal
level of single or multiple MICR characters.
Operation
The MCT is a one piece, all steel unit weighing approximately 59 lbs.,
measuring 13.5" high, 17.75" wide and 24.6" long. The
digital panel meter measures 2.5" x 5.5". The document transport
consists of an aluminum drum, belt and a four pole shaded motor. Document
speed is 150"/second with a tolerance of +/- 1.0%.
For full line MICR character measurement the check is passed through
the MCT tester and the signal level read directly from the panel
meter.
To measure any single character the check is placed in an open
envelope, called a frisket, so that a selected character is visible
through a window cut into the frisket. The frisket and check are
then passed through the MCT and the average signal level of the
character is displayed on the meter.
Features
The MCT is an ideal tester to use when
- multiple testers are required
- operating conditions are less than ideal
- signal level maintenance is the prime requirement
- low first cost is important
This tester meets American and Canadian MICR Standards.
